Regarding the Passing of Artist Shu Takahashi
Shu Takahashi (real name: Hideo Takahashi), artist and recipient of the Persons of Cultural Merit, passed away at 3:15 AM on August 29, 2026, at the age of 96.
We express our deepest gratitude for the kindness shown to him during his lifetime and respectfully inform you of his passing.
We would like to inform you that, in accordance with the deceased's wishes, the wake and funeral were held privately with only close relatives in attendance.
Therefore, a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 7th, at 1:00 PM at the Munetada Shrine in Okayama.
